"My HVAC system went down on a late Saturday night and i called HEP right away. They were calm and friendly on the phone, which allowed for us to get a tech out to my home. Justin came to my house at 7pm and did not leave until the problem was solved in every aspect of my issue at 11:30pm. I currently have a pregnant wife and he understood we needed to get air moving again. We worked late into the night to make sure we could have cool flowing air for the night. Once the job was completed for the day, he came back a second day to install new wiring within the home for the thermostat to the HVAC. He found and fixed previous issues from the prior homeowner and left my home better than how he found it. I am extremely appreciative of Justin and if you call HEP around the Knoxville area, I will request him in a heartbeat if I ever have any more issues and I think you should to. Thank you, Justin for your help and expertise."

"My nest Stat went out and I tried to fix it myself but couldn’t figure it out. Called HEP and they gave me a time frame of 1:00pm-6:00pm same day. They called me back at 5:00pm to let me know it would be around 7:00pm. I was 2 days with no A/C so waiting an extra hour wasn’t really an issue for me. Steve showed up and gave me a solution to my problem within 20 minutes, but he also temporarily fixed my unit Until I could get a new thermostat unit because the stat I had was faulty. He also walked me through some basic maintenance I could perform to help my HVAC run smoothly. Steve was Professional, honest and friendly! Finding that trio is almost impossible this day and age. All in all Steve is the Bob Ross of professionalism and deserves recognition for his craft. Thank you!"

"The guys from HEP did a great job installing my Carrier HVAC unit. They took their time and made sure everything was done right. They asked me several times if I thought everything looked good throughout the install. There will be a inspection technician that will come out to do a follow-up to make sure the job was done properly, check the unit, and make sure the thermostat is working correctly. Everyone that I talked to from HEP was friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend using this company. Thank you for your service! Jody Technician came out the next day and checked the unit and all the work performed. All employees seem to care about the customers."

"Josh Crawford came by today for a spring inspection of our HVAC unit, and to help with some smart thermostat issues. He did a great and thorough job, and was very personable. He suggested we add a surge protector to our unit to protect our compressor, and made an excellent case for that without being pushy or applying undue sales pressure."

"I contracted with HEP to install a new HVAC system. The one they put in is an American Standard, which gets good ratings online. It is gas heat/electric air. Charlie and Avi removed the old unit, installed the new unit. got everything wired up, installed a new thermostat (old one was problematic), and hauled away the old HVAC unit. Very cool, very professional. I now have heat working correctly for the first time since March."

Advanced Features to Consider When Upgrading Your Thermostat

Geofencing Technology

Geofencing uses your smartphone’s location to adjust your thermostat automatically. When you leave home, the thermostat can lower or raise the temperature to save energy, and when you return, it adjusts to your preferred comfort settings.

Some advanced thermostats include humidity sensors and controls, which help maintain optimal indoor humidity levels. This feature is especially beneficial in Sevierville’s varying climate, preventing excess moisture or dryness that can affect comfort and health.

Touchscreen Interfaces

Modern thermostats often feature intuitive touchscreen displays that make programming and adjustments simple and user-friendly. These interfaces provide clear visuals of temperature settings, schedules, and energy usage.

Integration with Weather Forecasts

Some smart thermostats can access local weather data to anticipate temperature changes and adjust your HVAC system proactively. This feature helps maintain comfort while optimizing energy use based on upcoming weather conditions.

How Thermostat Upgrades Improve Indoor Air Quality

While thermostats primarily control temperature, upgrading to a smart or programmable model can indirectly improve indoor air quality by optimizing HVAC system operation. Efficient heating and cooling cycles reduce the risk of mold growth and help maintain proper ventilation.

Additional Indoor Air Quality Benefits

  • Coordinated operation with air purifiers or humidifiers.
  • Alerts for filter replacement or system maintenance.
